Quality and Dedication

Skylights provide a wealth of light to any home but sometimes the sun is a little too bright and can cause unwanted heat and fading. The best way to combat the sun's harmful rays is by calling on the services of Brading (Specialty Shades).

Owner Ed Bonisch, who has been in the window coverings business in North Toronto for over 15 years, says quality and dedicated customer service are key to his good reputation among clients.

"If I sold low quality goods, then I'd hear about it in two or three years," Bonisch said, in describing his philosophy and guarantee that accompanies all his products.

Bonisch said the homes of North Toronto and surrounding areas often have skylights in stairwells, bathrooms and bedrooms and insulating shades are a good idea.

"Often there are skylights in the master bedroom, where we can install a retractable shade to block out 99% of the light," he said.

Even the most out of reach, awkward skylight can be covered with a shade. Bonisch offers customers the choice of manual or motorized operation, including remote control. All shading systems include special side tracks, allowing the blinds to raise, lower or stop in any position.

"Motorising shades is a popular option these days," Bonisch said, adding that all wiring is done through the attic, so that walls and decor do not have to be disturbed. Bonisch uses only the highest quality Hunter Douglas products, available in hundreds of colours for light filtering or blackout fabrics.

Summer's heat isn't too far off and Bonisch said a skylight can negate the cooling powers of a home's air conditioner. Bonisch reminds customers that not only awkward skylights, but curved solariums and irregular shaped windows can also be fitted with quality shading systems.
